Hello to all who may be reading. My name is Jacob, and I am a second year Communication and Media Studies student. I am not much of a social media user, but I have recently began to become more involved with Twitter which is currently my preferred medium. Other social media services I am involved with include: Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.
What is media space? To me, media space is a place reached through the use of devices such as smartphones, computers, tablets, etc. In this space, people use services such as Twitter and Facebook to connect with others whether they be their friends from outside of the virtual world or those met within.
Along with connecting people, the media space can also serve as a place for people to access content that interests them. It is more than likely that this content would also interest somebody else and so the concept of sharing becomes involved. Sharing, an action which allows users to attach links to fascinating or even weird content within a message which they post to social media sites like Twitter. By sharing content, users broadcast their interests to other likeminded people who in turn can follow or contact them, creating connections.

Media space is an arena for people to connect with other likeminded people. This space also allows people to broadcasts their interests through the process of sharing to attract the friendship, or followership, of people on an international level. Media space can connect people in many different ways, which is special because some people are not able to forge friendships and make connections with others easily outside of a virtual world. Media space exists due to the evolution of technology, and because technology is only going to move forward, it will become easier than ever to create bonds with those close to us or those on the other side of the globe.
